5 | My Friend Fire audio unboxing. Part 1
Welcome to the first part of the audio unboxing of the My Friend Fire deck by Mari in the Sky - a companion deck to Mari's beloved The Gentle Tarot.
Is "audio unboxing" a thing? Apparently, now it is!
We're delving deep into beautiful imagery of the first two parts of the deck: Borderless Bonus Cards and the Listening suit. Can we talk about images without video? Well, that's what we do at the Tarot & More podcast!
If you have your own My Friend Fire deck, take it with you for the ride. If not but you'd like to, you can buy it from Las Vistas Tarot & More (if you're based in England, Scotland, Wales, Australia and New Zealand at the moment!). If you are elsewhere (well, first of all, hello!!) - there are retailers around the world who stock Mari's decks and Mari sells them as well, of course.
For a 10% discount in the Las Vistas Tarot & More shop exclusive to podcast listeners, use code PODCAST10 at checkout.

Episode 6: Part Two of My Friend Fire audio unboxing, of course!
Transcript
Hello, magical beings and creature of the forest.
Speaker:This is Gosia, your host of Tarot and More podcast.
Speaker:And welcome to the next episode in which I was meant to be talking about places to visit in
Speaker:London.
Speaker:Like magical,
Speaker:magical places which are worth seeing, but I won't because I kind of changed my mind on the
Speaker:way.
Speaker:I probably shouldn't have given any hints of
Speaker:what's gonna come if I haven't recorded it yet, because I just change my mind.
Speaker:That's how I roll.
Speaker:But also,
Speaker:it just feels like there is just too much of everything around,
Speaker:around me.
Speaker:And it's probably because I live in London.
Speaker:And if there is a place where is too much of everything,
Speaker:it's definitely London.
Speaker:I'm sure there are other places.
Speaker:Generally, big cities are full of everything.
Speaker:And especially in December when everyone seems to be running around shopping,
Speaker:going out, having Christmas parties and so on.
Speaker:And it's just so busy.
Speaker:And I completely don't feel like being busy and being surrounded by busy people.
Speaker:So I didn't go to those places I wanted to visit and kind of report from the field.
Speaker:That may happen in future,
Speaker:but not today.
Speaker:I decided to stay home and cosy up and just do what I feel like doing more,
Speaker:which is just staying with my dog and with a deck which just arrived last week.
Speaker:And I've just decided to talk to you about that to do a little,
Speaker:like,
Speaker:review and run through.
Speaker:And an absolutely wonderful Oracle deck that I've been.
Speaker:I've been waiting for it for over a year because I supported it on Kickstarter and it
Speaker:just took a long time, too,
Speaker:for it to be fulfilled, but it was absolutely worth the wait.
Speaker:And I just thought, I'll just tell you.
Speaker:I'll tell you about this deck and I tell you about all the cards in it.
Speaker:And yeah, we can maybe just kind of look at them together.
Speaker:I mean, I'm looking at you listening,
Speaker:but I hope I will, I will be able to tell you about those cards in a way that you will feel
Speaker:like,
Speaker:you know,
Speaker:like you kind of relate to it.
Speaker:And if you have this deck that I'll tell you
Speaker:in a moment what it is, you can pause and then get it and look at it with me.
Speaker:And there is a blog post as well, which is linked in.
Speaker:There will be,
Speaker:but by the time you're listening, there is.
Speaker:Which is linked in the show notes.
Speaker:And I've taken some photos of certain cards.
Speaker:Not all of them, but some of them.
Speaker:So even if you don't have this deck, you can, you can kind of Have a look and,
Speaker:and see for yourself what you think.
Speaker:So, without further ado,
Speaker:this is my friend Fire by Mari in the sky and Mary,
Speaker:whose actual real name is Marisa.
Speaker:Mary is an author of.
Speaker:The author of the Gentle Tarot,
Speaker:which is an absolutely wonderful and beautiful, supportive,
Speaker:welcoming, friendly deck full of beautiful people and even more beautiful animals.
Speaker:And the Gentle Tarot has had a few incarnations.
Speaker:I mean, Mary is incredibly creative and she changes her work like,
Speaker:adjusts and tweaks her work a lot.
Speaker:So the cards,
Speaker:depending on which edition you may have or know,
Speaker:they may differ from each other a bit.
Speaker:I have the first edition of the Gentle Tarot
Speaker:and I absolutely love it.
Speaker:But there is another one, a new one coming up soon,
Speaker:in production at the moment.
Speaker:So it's always something happening in the
Speaker:Gentle World, the Gentle Tarot world, or universe created by Marie.
Speaker:And my friend Fire is the first or like a companion deck,
Speaker:I think it's how it's called.
Speaker:It's a companion deck to the Gentle Tarot and
Speaker:it's.
Speaker:Well,
Speaker:as obviously name suggests,
Speaker:it is inspired by the Fire.
Speaker:And I think it's the first of the five,
Speaker:I believe.
Speaker:I'm just thinking this four or five, can't
Speaker:remember,
Speaker:but possibly five decks which will come in coming years,
Speaker:which will all be some additions to this universe of the Gentle Tarot.
Speaker:And my friend Fire is the first one.
Speaker:So,
Speaker:I mean, it is so amazing.
Speaker:I just love it so much and I know that I say
Speaker:it every time in every episode when I talk to the creators and artists.
Speaker:And I just absolutely love all the decks which come to me because especially the ones I'm
Speaker:selling in my shop because obviously,
Speaker:well, that's why I'm selling them, because I love them.
Speaker:But this one is like super special.
Speaker:Honestly, it's just the moment it arrived like
Speaker:it.
Speaker:I opened just exceeded my expectations.
Speaker:And there was a lot of expectations because that, as I said, was a long time.
Speaker:So it was just like, you know, I was following the campaign and I'm.
Speaker:I'm a supporter of Marion Patreon, so there was a lot of talk about, about this deck there
Speaker:as well.
Speaker:So it's just like, you know, you kind of.
Speaker:You kind of see it before it arrives.
Speaker:You.
Speaker:You have some kind of expectation, what's.
Speaker:What, how it's going to look like.
Speaker:Obviously you see the pictures and, and you know,
Speaker:and you are kind of.
Speaker:Because Mari is very transparent in the way she works.
Speaker:So people who are following the campaign, who are her supporters, are actually seeing
Speaker:everything being created in the real time.
Speaker:But still,
Speaker:I just didn't expect it's gonna be.
Speaker:It would be that.
Speaker:That beautiful.
Speaker:So the way how it is made and like it's just,
Speaker:just so pretty and, and the quality of paper,
Speaker:the beautiful golden accents, like golden stamping on,
Speaker:on the box and on the back of the cards is just so pretty and it's just very, very nice
Speaker:to touch.
Speaker:It's like non, non, non glossy, like matte,
Speaker:matte.
Speaker:Matte.
Speaker:Matte finish, that's the word.
Speaker:And it's very pleasant to touch.
Speaker:It's the same size, like a typical tarot size, which is the same size as a gentle tarot.
Speaker:So it can kind of go together.
Speaker:Obviously the style is, is also compatible, but that's, that's Mary's illustration style.
Speaker:Yeah. And the box is yellow, it's very fiery and it has those hands,
Speaker:person's hands with a little human figure being held in those hands and a lot of ferns,
Speaker:fern leaves around and those golden stumps which are kind of like a fire.
Speaker:Fire accents.
Speaker:I love the ferns.
Speaker:I just, I love,
Speaker:I love fens a lot.
Speaker:Ferns are very big in Slavic folklore.
Speaker:And my favourite Slavic legend, which is more.
Speaker:I think it's more Ukrainian than Polish really, but it's generally, generally Slavic.
Speaker:And it's about a fern flower.
Speaker:And obviously if you have any knowledge of biology, you know that ferns don't flower.
Speaker:So that's the whole point of the legend is that when the fern is flowering it's,
Speaker:it's magic.
Speaker:So.
Speaker:Yeah, so I like ferns.
Speaker:I like.
Speaker:I really like the design of ferns.
Speaker:Speaking about the nature, that is important,
Speaker:important thing to mention is that Mary lives in Alaska.
Speaker:She's Mexican, she is the.
Speaker:In an indigenous person from Mexico
Speaker:originally, but she lives in Alaska.
Speaker:And both or all of those,
Speaker:all of those backgrounds are really important in her art.
Speaker:So there is a lot of the indigenous vibe in her drawings in her cards.
Speaker:But the nature which,
Speaker:the animals and the nature which is represented is generally,
Speaker:well, according to what she says,
Speaker:it's representing the nature of Alaska.
Speaker:So I'm gonna,
Speaker:I'm talking about the cards.
Speaker:I will be mentioning animals and I just want
Speaker:to come clean.
Speaker:I've never been to Alaska.
Speaker:I'm not fully 100%,
Speaker:you know,
Speaker:conversant with animals that live there,
Speaker:that live there.
Speaker:And yeah, I mean, obviously some animals I do know,
Speaker:but for example,
Speaker:species of birds.
Speaker:There are birds on the cards and I was
Speaker:thinking about them.
Speaker:I was.
Speaker:I'm looking at them and I think I'm just looking at One card with birds at the moment.
Speaker:And I think, well, I don't know.
Speaker:I know the ones which kind of represent look
Speaker:very similar to the ones on the cards and they live in England.
Speaker:Those birds are the same birds in Alaska or they are some kind of related to them, but
Speaker:they are not exactly the same,
Speaker:you know, species of a bird.
Speaker:I'm not sure.
Speaker:I may be wrong, but I'm going to try my best
Speaker:with identifying animals.
Speaker:So, yeah,
Speaker:the deck is absolutely gorgeous.
Speaker:It shuffles beautifully.
Speaker:But I will shuffle.
Speaker:I just.
Speaker:This is kind of how it sounds.
Speaker:I will shuffle at the end.
Speaker:I don't want to do it now because I just put
Speaker:them in order so I don't want to mess up.
Speaker:But they have lovely golden edges as well.
Speaker:Like sort of not, not like a shiny gold, but like old gold colour.
Speaker:And a booklet.
Speaker:And there is a very comprehensive booklet.
Speaker:And the booklet also have colour, it's imprinted in colour and it has illustrations
Speaker:of all the cards and the text.
Speaker:And I've decided not to read it yet.
Speaker:I just want to talk about the cards without actually reading the interpretations written
Speaker:by Mary.
Speaker:So,
Speaker:yeah, I'm not gonna look at the text in the book,
Speaker:but it's beautiful as well.
Speaker:It has this cover with two sort of human like
Speaker:creatures, but they are not fully.
Speaker:Some. Some people on the, in this deck are actual people and some are just like blobs.
Speaker:I think that's,
Speaker:that's the way how you.
Speaker:We can describe them.
Speaker:They are like, like blobs.
Speaker:And, and this.
Speaker:On the, on the, on the COVID of the,
Speaker:of the booklet there are two blobs.
Speaker:One of them has a. Like a heart in the middle and is holding this heart and the other blob
Speaker:is kind of behind.
Speaker:So it's cuddling.
Speaker:So one blob is cuddling its heart and the other blob is cuddling this first blob and
Speaker:there is a seal next to them.
Speaker:And the seal, the shape of a seal, like it's exactly matching the shape of the blobby
Speaker:human.
Speaker:And there is a whale sailing,
Speaker:swimming above them.
Speaker:Yeah. So we've got this whale and the seal and I think that's how we start with Alaskan
Speaker:nature.
Speaker:So the cards are.
Speaker:It's 60 cards.
Speaker:I think it's 60 or actually maybe it's more of them because.
Speaker:No, I think it is 60.
Speaker:So. But it's not that straightforward.
Speaker:Some of them are numbered and some of them are not.
Speaker:That's why I'm hesitating.
Speaker:And also some numbers have A double card.
Speaker:So have.
Speaker:Have two cards with the same number and the
Speaker:same word on them, but with different imagery.
Speaker:But we get to this.
Speaker:I think it's two of those,
Speaker:but we start with.
Speaker:And they are divided.
Speaker:They are divided into suits.
Speaker:And it's five suits with different colours.
Speaker:It's green, blue,
Speaker:orange, red and purple.
Speaker:And there is another suit which contains only five cards and it is borderless, because the
Speaker:other ones have those borders in these colours, which I just said.
Speaker:But there is.
Speaker:The fifth suit is borderless.
Speaker:And there are also two cards,
Speaker:one for the beginnings and the other for the.
Speaker:Well,
Speaker:not the endings really, but for the infinite potential.
Speaker:And they have sort of black and white borders.
Speaker:So we start with the cards which are borderless.
Speaker:And they are meant to.
Speaker:They are bonus cards which represent connection with ourselves.
Speaker:And it's five of them, like I said,
Speaker:and they are blue, orange, green, red and purple.
Speaker:And each of them has one word on them and the words are create,
Speaker:stoke, steady, song and silence.
Speaker:And I'm wondering whether it was intentional that four of them starts with S and just
Speaker:create starts with C. But I don't know if there was anything about this alliteration,
Speaker:although I like it.
Speaker:I think I would have liked it if all of them started with S.
Speaker:But that's my ocd.
Speaker:Okay, Right, Create, Stoke, Steady, song and
Speaker:silence.
Speaker:And create is purple.
Speaker:And it has those two hands with a fire in between them and with two plants, two flowers,
Speaker:which look a bit again.
Speaker:And now we are getting straight away into the
Speaker:realm of nature,
Speaker:where I am not hundred percent sure what they are.
Speaker:Look a bit like a thistle.
Speaker:But I have a feeling it's not a thistle.
Speaker:It's too delicate to be a thistle,
Speaker:but kinda imagine a delicate,
Speaker:thornless thistle.
Speaker:That's how it looks.
Speaker:Yeah, but the hands are.
Speaker:The hands are the one that create,
Speaker:I guess.
Speaker:And the fire in between them is what allows us
Speaker:to create and to start our creation.
Speaker:And they are quite like ethereal and not very
Speaker:earthbound, those hands.
Speaker:So it feels like that it's open to the interpretation of them being hands of God or
Speaker:another kind of source.
Speaker:But they are definitely human hands.
Speaker:They are very, very human.
Speaker:And I would say that for me, they are our hands.
Speaker:Our hands that create.
Speaker:Well,
Speaker:anything that we are able to create.
Speaker:And hopefully it is something beautiful and
Speaker:not destructive.
Speaker:Definitely the card is,
Speaker:to me representing something very,
Speaker:very positive and constructive and beautiful.
Speaker:Then we've got Stoke.
Speaker:Stoke is yellow and like orange, orange,
Speaker:yellow.
Speaker:And we've got this human face and hands and
Speaker:they are blowing, they're blowing on the fire.
Speaker:So obviously they're stoking the fire and there is a little bit of like the space, the
Speaker:cosmic space,
Speaker:which is in the back of the person.
Speaker:So it's in a way when they are blowing the air,
Speaker:their breath towards the fire,
Speaker:the way how it looks on the picture,
Speaker:it's like this breath comes out from the, this cosmic space behind them.
Speaker:It's quite difficult to describe.
Speaker:But imagine that there is a continuity between
Speaker:the cosmic space and the breath that comes out of this person's mouth and,
Speaker:you know, keeps the fire alive.
Speaker:So that's stoke.
Speaker:Then we've got steady.
Speaker:Steady is green.
Speaker:And there are two hands and in between them there is a fire and they are kind of.
Speaker:Imagine like the hands that are holding a ball of energy.
Speaker:So like kind of someone playing with energetic work.
Speaker:For example,
Speaker:one hand on the bottom, the other one above.
Speaker:They are not touching each other and between
Speaker:them there is space, there is this space for energy.
Speaker:And here on the picture there is a little, little fire in between them and the hands are
Speaker:keeping the fire, keeping the fire steady in this energetic field.
Speaker:Then we are,
Speaker:we have the card with the birds I mentioned before.
Speaker:It's song,
Speaker:it's red,
Speaker:and there are two birds.
Speaker:And now I'm doing my best.
Speaker:One of them looks a bit like a wren or maybe, or maybe a pipit,
Speaker:and the other one looks like a great ***.
Speaker:And these are the birds that live in the uk and whether they live in Alaska, it's a
Speaker:mystery to me.
Speaker:So maybe they are birds, they are different birds, but they look like.
Speaker:Definitely one looks like a great ***.
Speaker:The other one, I can't decide whether it looks like a wren or a pipit, but one of those and
Speaker:they are both singing.
Speaker:They have their beaks open, their heads up and they are, they are definitely singing.
Speaker:And between them there are those waves, purple waves, which kind of represent this sound
Speaker:coming out of those little bodies, little strong bodies.
Speaker:And there is like a ball of sunshine in between them and a bit of flowers.
Speaker:And you can tell it's summer or spring or late spring or summer.
Speaker:And they are singing their heart out and it's just so,
Speaker:so beautiful and so uplifting.
Speaker:This, this card,
Speaker:I really love it and I. Well, I said I live in London, but I live on the edges of London
Speaker:really, and Zone four of London and I've got a big park next to my house and we've got loads
Speaker:of birds here and I.
Speaker:I don't know if it's an age thing when you start listening to birds and bird watching.
Speaker:I think it is, yeah.
Speaker:Middle aged hobby.
Speaker:But I started noticing far more birds than I used to when I was younger.
Speaker:And they,
Speaker:yeah, they, they.
Speaker:I've noticed that the, the smallest ones, the
Speaker:tiny and least visible birds, they have the strongest voices and, and the most beautiful
Speaker:songs.
Speaker:So yeah, these are two of those beds definitely.
Speaker:And, and then the fifth card of those.
Speaker:It's silence and silence I love.
Speaker:Absolutely.
Speaker:This card is blue and it has this creature.
Speaker:The animal that sits in.
Speaker:Looks a bit like it sits in the water or maybe somewhere in the sky.
Speaker:It's difficult to, to tell whether it's a,
Speaker:it's sort of water environment or,
Speaker:or a cosmic environment or just a little bit of both really.
Speaker:But it definitely feels very silent.
Speaker:Like the, the song card is just loud.
Speaker:You can, you can hear those birds while here you, you just know it's completely silent.
Speaker:It's just very blue.
Speaker:And this animal, I, I'm saying animal because it's like,
Speaker:it can be a dog,
Speaker:but it also could be like little doe or something like that.
Speaker:I'm not fully sure what this animal is and it's not because I cannot tell Alaskan nature
Speaker:from other nature, but it's because it's really difficult to tell what this animal is
Speaker:meant to be.
Speaker:It's like a little ghost, a little like drone with like a one line really.
Speaker:Unlike for example, those birds on the song card where they are very detailed.
Speaker:Well, this is just like a sort of a ghost of animal, but it reminds me a lot of my dog who
Speaker:passed away in 2018, Waika.
Speaker:And it's just there is something about the shape of this animal that reminds me a lot of
Speaker:her.
Speaker:And yeah, it's just something very, very magical about this card.
Speaker:So these are the first five cards.
Speaker:And yeah, they, they are borderless.
Speaker:They are, they are those kind of additional.
Speaker:How are they called? I think it says bonus cards.
Speaker:Yeah, they are bonus cards.
Speaker:And then we are getting to those ones which are numbered starting from zero.
Speaker:And zero is a open, clear beginning.
Speaker:This is what it's written on it.
Speaker:It has this black and white and grey border and the number zero.
Speaker:And it's their hands.
Speaker:They are human hands holding a planet or a
Speaker:moon.
Speaker:I think it's a moon because it's silver.
Speaker:Yeah,
Speaker:I would say it's a moon.
Speaker:There's definitely cosmic space around it,
Speaker:but I think it can be because it's sort of white and silver.
Speaker:I mean, I see it as a moon.
Speaker:But I could imagine that it could also be a
Speaker:sort of white canvas,
Speaker:like a planet, which we are deciding what's going to happen on it.
Speaker:So it depends who is holding who's holding the planet.
Speaker:Right.
Speaker:But the hands are brown.
Speaker:The hands are not definitely there.
Speaker:Do not belong to Putin or that they do not
Speaker:belong to Trump.
Speaker:That I can say, because they are definitely hands of a person with brown skin.
Speaker:And that gives me, you know, a lot of hope that it's possibly someone with better
Speaker:intentions.
Speaker:Right,
Speaker:so that is open.
Speaker:Clear beginning.
Speaker:Yeah, I think I'm just.
Speaker:I'm just thinking now as I'm talking.
Speaker:Yeah, I think I'm.
Speaker:I'm getting into this,
Speaker:like, leaning towards the interpretation that it's.
Speaker:It's a planet, it's not a moon,
Speaker:it's a planet that we can decide how it's going to look like.
Speaker:That's why it's so clean and clear without anything on it.
Speaker:Then we have a card, number one, which is green.
Speaker:It's green.
Speaker:We start with a green suit.
Speaker:And green suit was listening as far as I
Speaker:remember.
Speaker:Yes,
Speaker:listening.
Speaker:So the first card open, clear beginning was
Speaker:beginnings.
Speaker:And it's just this card.
Speaker:And then we are getting into the suit of listening.
Speaker:Green one.
Speaker:And it starts with paws.
Speaker:We start with the word pause and with such a wonderful picture that I just like.
Speaker:I love it so much.
Speaker:It's a bear.
Speaker:It's a brown bear.
Speaker:It's a grizzly bear or a brown bear.
Speaker:Now, again, which one lives in Alaska? I don't know,
Speaker:but, yeah, it's definitely a bear.
Speaker:And it's brown, not polar bear.
Speaker:Okay, we're clear on that.
Speaker:Clear on that.
Speaker:So the bird is.
Speaker:Bear is sleeping, and it's lying by the.
Speaker:By the stream.
Speaker:There is a stream.
Speaker:There is a green grass on which it's.
Speaker:The bear is lying, and there is a rainbow
Speaker:above him and two butterflies flying around, or three butterflies, actually.
Speaker:And it's just.
Speaker:And there is this little.
Speaker:Again, a white halo behind the bear.
Speaker:And I'm just thinking, is it some kind of connection to this.
Speaker:These beginnings we just had in a previous card?
Speaker:I'm not sure.
Speaker:It is a bird with a halo.
Speaker:Yeah, definitely.
Speaker:And it's just so restful.
Speaker:It's just you look at it and you think, like,
Speaker:yeah, I need a pose as well.
Speaker:The card of pose.
Speaker:It's a perfect picture for paws.
Speaker:Then we have card number two.
Speaker:Card number two is listening.
Speaker:And we've got an owl.
Speaker:We've got an owl.
Speaker:Again,
Speaker:not sure which owl, but an Owl.
Speaker:And like in Pause with the Bear we had definitely a spring.
Speaker:Now in listening we are in winter because the owl is sitting on a branch that has snow on it
Speaker:and there is a little fire,
Speaker:but the fire is sort of blue and green and it's just next to the owl and there is a
Speaker:person, there is an outline of a person, of a human being.
Speaker:But again, like in this silence card with this little creature that reminded me of my dog
Speaker:when I said the creature was just drawn with one line.
Speaker:Here the person behind the owl is also drawn with the line so you could actually not even
Speaker:notice it.
Speaker:You could concentrate on the owl and not notice there is a person there as well.
Speaker:So I don't know who is doing the listening.
Speaker:Is it the owl or is it the person?
Speaker:Or they are listening to each other?
Speaker:Not sure.
Speaker:But yeah,
Speaker:it is very like a thoughtful card.
Speaker:Then the card number three is within and without.
Speaker:And this card has a heart.
Speaker:In the centre of the card is a heart and it's
Speaker:like a proper heart.
Speaker:It's not like a, you know, the heart we see on Valentine's card.
Speaker:It's like a human organ and there is a person,
Speaker:slightly blobby person, not fully fully developed but yeah,
Speaker:like not fully realistic I would say not fully realistic person, but definitely a person
Speaker:hugging this heart.
Speaker:And there are fires around and plants and the heart and the, and the person are kind of
Speaker:floating in the space in between them.
Speaker:And there is a sun or a moon really I don't
Speaker:know,
Speaker:definitely either a sun or a moon, a kind of behind.
Speaker:And the person is,
Speaker:is hugging the heart and it's kind of like half of this person is the colour of the heart
Speaker:and the half of the person is the colour of the space around it.
Speaker:So it's, it's definitely within and without.
Speaker:We are the part of the,
Speaker:of the heart.
Speaker:But whose heart is it? This is a question I think.
Speaker:Who are we? Are we the.
Speaker:Is the heart ours and then who is the,
Speaker:the hand drawn person who is hugging it? Or are we this person and then whose heart is
Speaker:it?
Speaker:Yeah, I think that's quite tricky card I would say.
Speaker:It's not, it's not.
Speaker:It. It's not obvious to me.
Speaker:Then we've got card number four which is called Path of Ease.
Speaker:And on this one we have a person walking into like walking on a like very wide and, and
Speaker:clean and quite maybe not straight path because it's winding but it's, it's flat and
Speaker:it's sort of easy to walk on.
Speaker:And there are birch trees alongside.
Speaker:And this person,
Speaker:I'm not sure, I'm not 100% sure, but I think this is the most realistic person that we have
Speaker:in the whole deck.
Speaker:Because most of these people are either blobs or lines or just think there are some people
Speaker:who are a bit more as well defined, but they are, for example, naked.
Speaker:Well, this is a person who is dressed and is dressed in very modern clothing.
Speaker:Has jeans, has a puffer jacket.
Speaker:It's definitely a person from 21st century and who is walking.
Speaker:We see this person from behind but they are walking in a very open way.
Speaker:So their hands are on both sides of their bodies and they are palms, palms.
Speaker:So we see the backs of the hands and the palms are to the front and we can see that there is
Speaker:a bit of,
Speaker:of light of fire coming out from the fronts of.
Speaker:Of their hands.
Speaker:So yeah, that's,
Speaker:that's definitely someone who is walking very confidently and in a very open fashion.
Speaker:Open to the possibilities that are awaiting at the end of this road and definitely not
Speaker:scared.
Speaker:I don't think they had any doubts where they are going.
Speaker:I think they know where they are going.
Speaker:And it's autumn because leaves are falling and
Speaker:the closing is a bit like for a colder weather in Alaska presumably.
Speaker:Now we've got number five, which is eagle's view.
Speaker:And eagle's view is an eagle,
Speaker:definitely an eagle flying over a land and there's some lake and some greenery and we see
Speaker:it from the perspective.
Speaker:So we see the, the eagle from above.
Speaker:So we are looking from a perspective of an eagle.
Speaker:But there is something interesting because there are two bits on this card which look
Speaker:like they are sort of under,
Speaker:under the eagle.
Speaker:So they are in the landscape,
Speaker:but they are like black holes.
Speaker:They are literally black holes in the landscape.
Speaker:So there is this possibility and the eagle kind of looks like it's looking in the
Speaker:direction of one of those black holes.
Speaker:So is the eagle going to fly into a black hole?
Speaker:Possibly,
Speaker:possibly.
Speaker:Now we have number six.
Speaker:Number six is submerge.
Speaker:Submerged is another quite realistic person we see it's a woman.
Speaker:Very often we can't tell that.
Speaker:People are quite ambiguous.
Speaker:They are,
Speaker:you know, non binary most of the time.
Speaker:But this is definitely.
Speaker:This person looks like female and yeah, she seems to be exactly submerged.
Speaker:They are fish swimming and there is a fire above her head.
Speaker:But it looks like she is under the water,
Speaker:like there are waves above her head.
Speaker:She is submerged in the water and it seems very silent and peaceful as well.
Speaker:And I Don't know about you, but I quite scared of water.
Speaker:I'm not a good swimmer, but I really like lying on the flat on my back on the water and
Speaker:having on a very calm water,
Speaker:so like a lake and having my ears underwater.
Speaker:So it's just this silence,
Speaker:the silence underwater.
Speaker:Silence is quite amazing.
Speaker:And I used to dive a bit.
Speaker:I wasn't very good at that because, as I said,
Speaker:I'm scared of water.
Speaker:But I did some diving in the past and the
Speaker:thing I liked the most was the silence, the amazing silence underwater.
Speaker:And this woman seems very calm and she seems to be enjoying this silence underwater.
Speaker:She doesn't.
Speaker:Definitely doesn't look like she's drowning.
Speaker:She's resting.
Speaker:Now we've got number seven.
Speaker:Number seven is my friend Fear.
Speaker:And my friend Fear is quite an interesting card.
Speaker:It has two rainbows and smaller and bigger fires which seem to be.
Speaker:I don't know if put down or like they are touched.
Speaker:They are being touched by two hands,
Speaker:someone's hands.
Speaker:We have the.
Speaker:We see those.
Speaker:We don't see the person, we just see hands
Speaker:touching the fires.
Speaker:Like.
Speaker:Yeah, it's a bit,
Speaker:you know, you're scared of something but you decide to approach it anyway, to touch it, to
Speaker:be closer, to get closer to something which essentially is quite dangerous.
Speaker:Fire can be very dangerous.
Speaker:And this person is treating the fire like as if it was like a little pet, I think.
Speaker:And there is the thing which is the most interesting in this card for me and it's quite
Speaker:puzzling are the little creatures.
Speaker:They're like little yellow, whitish, yellowish
Speaker:blobs,
Speaker:blobby figures, but not blobby people.
Speaker:They look like a blobby little creatures, like
Speaker:just little blobs with eyes and smiles and they're just looking from like lurking from
Speaker:behind different corners of this card.
Speaker:And they're quite interesting.
Speaker:I don't know who they are, honestly.
Speaker:Yeah, my friend Fear is definitely one of those cards which are quite.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Not clear. Not clear.
Speaker:Like I was saying, they are within and
Speaker:without.
Speaker:And my friend Fear as something that doesn't
Speaker:like the interpretation doesn't come out at me immediately.
Speaker:Apart from the fact that I think that the way how the hands are dealing with the fires,
Speaker:the little flames is quite a good illustration for the concept of my friend Fear.
Speaker:I like that.
Speaker:Now we have number eight.
Speaker:Number eight is seeds and sprouts.
Speaker:And then we have two hands again.
Speaker:And the hands are dirty with like, you know,
Speaker:they are gardener's hands.
Speaker:They are definitely dead with soil and they are kind of in a position in this mudra
Speaker:position of lotus.
Speaker:And in them there is a little sunshine, there is a little ball of light.
Speaker:It's not fire, it's just light.
Speaker:And from that it's like,
Speaker:you know, the flowers are sprouting, like they are blooming already.
Speaker:It's not seeds and sprouts, it's like proper plants in bloom.
Speaker:But we also see little seeds and sprouts and little ants.
Speaker:The ants are so cute.
Speaker:On the very bottom of the card and on the top there is a butterfly.
Speaker:And it's just definitely something like a lush interpretation of spring and summer together,
Speaker:really, on one card.
Speaker:Very beautiful and very uplifting.
Speaker:Number nine.
Speaker:Number nine is my beautiful innocent heart.
Speaker:And my beautiful, innocent heart is an animal.
Speaker:And I think it's a porcupine.
Speaker:It looks like a porcupine.
Speaker:It's a porcupine face and this kind of long
Speaker:needles.
Speaker:Yeah, I think it's a young porcupine and it's eating clover.
Speaker:They are clovers and some of the clovers are actually sprouting rainbows from them.
Speaker:Now, the rainbows have quite strange colours because they are not like seven colours
Speaker:rainbow or they.
Speaker:They are basically.
Speaker:They have.
Speaker:Let me have a look.
Speaker:They have like, dark blue and purple,
Speaker:red and yellow.
Speaker:And they.
Speaker:There is something.
Speaker:The dark purple.
Speaker:Dark blue looks even like, almost like black.
Speaker:And there is something about them that reminds me of a German or Belgian flag.
Speaker:German and Belgian flags.
Speaker:They have black,
Speaker:red and yellow colours in them.
Speaker:And yeah, I think the German.
Speaker:Particular German because of the direction in
Speaker:which it goes,
Speaker:but there is a purple in them and I just can't unsee this flower, this flag.
Speaker:Now, I just think it's like a German flag sprouting out of the clover,
Speaker:but in a better,
Speaker:better incarnation of a German flag.
Speaker:I think they should think about putting purple
Speaker:in their flag.
Speaker:It would look like it's better.
Speaker:It just fits.
Speaker:Fits in.
Speaker:Yeah, it's a German flag with additional
Speaker:purple.
Speaker:No, but seriously, it's in a rainbow.
Speaker:It's a rainbow.
Speaker:It's a rainbow coming out from.
Speaker:From a clover.
Speaker:And another clover is being eaten by this really cute porcupine.
Speaker:So my beautiful innocent heart is.
Speaker:Yeah, this is it.
Speaker:Yeah, it's a porcupine.
Speaker:Now, you know how the innocent heart looks
Speaker:like it's a porcupine.
Speaker:Right. Number 10 card.
Speaker:Number 10 is the fire is calling.
Speaker:And the fire is calling.
Speaker:It's a person who is sitting on a little
Speaker:island in the middle of a pond or a lake,
Speaker:and there are two cranes now again,
Speaker:am I sure they are cranes? I am not sure they are cranes but they look
Speaker:like European cranes.
Speaker:So two cranes.
Speaker:Let's stick with that, let's roll.
Speaker:Two cranes are standing on two sides.
Speaker:Two sides of this person and one of them is
Speaker:making sounds because I would like to say singing but cranes are making really bizarre
Speaker:sounds.
Speaker:I don't know if you've ever had a crane.
Speaker:I just think it's quite amazing that those big beautiful birds are just making such weird
Speaker:sounds while those tiny, tiny pipits and wrens and **** and forgot the English name for it
Speaker:now I just suddenly forgot.
Speaker:It's in Polish, it's called Ruzik.
Speaker:This took a tiny beautiful bird with like
Speaker:orangey reddish belly and I completely forgot his English name.
Speaker:But anyway they are tiny and they sing so beautifully and then they've got those cranes
Speaker:which are so majestic and then they make sounds and I think they're weird.
Speaker:So yeah this is a crane making their own craney singing their craney song.
Speaker:And the other crane is standing there just looking.
Speaker:Yeah. Nothing, not impressed.
Speaker:And the person is sitting calmly between them in a sort of lotus cross cross legged
Speaker:position.
Speaker:And it, this person has.
Speaker:Yeah they have.
Speaker:I don't.
Speaker:That's, that's sort of a non binary visual of a person.
Speaker:So let's call them.
Speaker:They, they have a flame in their like the
Speaker:middle of their body is a flame and they are sitting there very, very peacefully between
Speaker:those two cranes and there is a lot of greenery and,
Speaker:and water around them.
Speaker:And the name of this card I, I don't think I said is the fire is calling.
Speaker:So we've got the fire in the,
Speaker:in this person's body and it's still very small.
Speaker:It's not taking over the whole body of this person.
Speaker:It's just small in the middle in this sort of abdomen area and it's growing and it's
Speaker:calling.
Speaker:The crane is calling definitely.
Speaker:I would say calling is the better word than
Speaker:singing.
Speaker:Yeah. And I realised this is the end of the listening suit and I realised I'd be talking
Speaker:for over 40 minutes so I'm going to make a little series out of it.
Speaker:Yeah, that's, that's,
Speaker:that's what's going to happen.
Speaker:And they will probably come out like more
Speaker:often than once.
Speaker:You know it's probably going to be,
Speaker:I don't know,
Speaker:within a week.
Speaker:I think the whole thing will wrap up within a
Speaker:week.
Speaker:It's going to be a long run through this
Speaker:beautiful,
Speaker:beautiful, wonderful deck because I just, I'M just enjoying so much talking about those
Speaker:cards.
Speaker:Yeah. I really hope you have your own,
Speaker:your own deck if you are listening to it.
Speaker:If you're still, if you're still here
Speaker:listening, I hope you have this deck in front of you and if you don't then there is a link
Speaker:in the show notes and I'm selling those decks.
Speaker:So if you are in the UK or precisely England's Wales and Scotland because I'm still with some
Speaker:paperwork related difficulty with Northern Ireland.
Speaker:So Scotland, England and Wales and also Australia and New Zealand, then you can buy
Speaker:the deck from me.
Speaker:If you are somewhere else, there are also other retailers who are selling this deck.
Speaker:If you are in the US that's probably the best thing is to buy directly from Mari and I'm
Speaker:going to also add Mari's Patreon in the show notes because it's just the place to be.
Speaker:Yeah. And then I'll tell you about other cards because we have still a lot of them coming.
Speaker:So for now,
Speaker:yeah, stay magical and let's catch up very soon about the next suit in my friend, Fire.
Speaker:Sam.
